I have been working in the Mental Health field for almost twenty years. I have

worked in a variety of settings including, but not limited to psychiatric                                                    hospitals, equine therapy (with horses), and school districts, with populations                                       ranging from the homeless recently taken off of the streets, to the high                                                school student who just recently moved to America. It didn’t matter the population or setting that these individuals came from; the thing they all had in common was that sometimes they just needed someone to talk with who would validate their experience. Someone to help them take that next step forward toward a better life.

Recently, much of my focus has been on helping adolescents and adults navigate their struggles/stressors such as school, parents, body changes, relationships, work transitions, etc. Life has its inherent challenges no matter who you are. Throw in a few additional struggles and it can become extremely overwhelming. If you’ve reached this point, that may be why you are reading therapist profiles right now. Hoping against hope that someone can help get you through this difficult season.

In terms of credentials, I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California. But the credentials that matter infinitely more to me are the stories of the hundreds of adults, kids, and teens I’ve been humbled to work with over the years whose lives are happier, more manageable, and more aligned with their own values than before we met.

When we start working together my goal will be to provide a comfortable space where you can tell your story. I’ve always found that when my clients feel comfortable, they have a much easier time developing solution-focused goals that can make their lives better. We will lean into your strengths, existing supports, talents, and skills to find strategies that work for you. This is your time, and it’s your life. My job is to facilitate your process and get out of the way so you can be the star of your own story.

In my free time, I am all about family. I have three sons who are involved in a variety of sports and other extracurricular activities.  We enjoy attending sporting events (Rams/Angels), playing ping pong, swimming and running around with our dog. At the end of the day it is my family that keeps me grounded and allows me to do the career that I love. People sometimes mention that I smile a lot, but it’s not something that I do on purpose. I simply love my life, including the work, because I get to make a meaningful difference in the daily experience of other people and live out my own life purpose every day.

If you think I might be a good fit for you or your loved one, please give me a call, email, or text so we can talk about how I may be able to help. Please feel free to call, text, or email me with any questions. You can also fill out the contact form and select my name and I will reach out to you directly.

I accept several private insurances (Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of CA, Cigna, and United Healthcare/Optum) and private pay/cash payment.

If I am not paneled with your insurance company, I can provide you with a "Superbill" which helps some clients, typically those with PPO insurance, get reimbursed for a percentage of their therapy services. A superbill is a "receipt" that includes the amount you paid for the service, the type of service, your mental health diagnosis, and your personal identifying information. ***Not all plans reimburse for out-of-network providers so it is important that you check with your insurance carrier first (calling is likely the quickest way to get an answer) to determine whether your specific plan will allow you to receive partial reimbursement for services upon submission of superbills. Though amounts vary, many clients have told us that they receive aroudn 60%-70% back from their insurance company.
