                                     Dr. Annie Gutierrez, PsyD

                                     Licensed Clinical Psychologist

While I have enjoyed walking with my clients through a wide range of                                                   challenges, my passion is helping peripartum and postpartum mothers find                                         ways to manage feelings of distress, depression, anxiety, anger, and the                                             plethora of other emotions that come with pregnancy, childbirth, and                                                    adjusting to a new normal. I strive to provide a safe space for mothers to                                              share their struggles free from concern of judgment or shame. Parenting                                              and motherhood can already be a difficult experience, and as they say, “It takes a village.” I would be honored to be part of your village!

I have worked with children, adults, college students, low-income and homeless individuals, and trauma survivors. I have experience working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances, and have successfully helped people through difficulties with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, self-esteem, life transitions, and self-harm.

I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in psychology and obtained a master’s degree and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from California Baptist University (CBU). I currently hold a license in Arizona, have passed California's licensing exams. I am able to practice temporarily in California under my Arizona license while I await the Califiornia Board of Psychology sending my CA license soon. I also teach at CBU as an adjunct professor in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Coming full circle and teaching at the school where I started my professional journey is an opportunity I am grateful to have and it is a blessing to help enrich the lives and learning of our future mental health professionals.

When I am not in “therapist mode” I enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband and two children. We love going to local parks and playgrounds, visiting Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland, and building tall towers with magnetic tiles. I also take time for myself through running, reading, or lighting a candle and snuggling with my two cats. If you're finding it hard to take care of yourself, give me a call sometime to see if I can help.
